'Second Floor: The private apartment of Mademoiselle Chanel'

A photographic exhibition by Sam Taylor-Johnson in Saatchi Gallery which features a series of 34 photographs capturing the private apartment of Mademoiselle Chanel. The apartment is situated on the second floor above the famous boutique in 31 Rue Cambon in Paris and it is the only complete Chanel interior in existence. Thephotographs illustrate the mirrored staircase leading up to the apartment and objects and furnitures that were so treasured by Mademoiselle Chanel.

Μια φωτογραφική έκθεση απότον Sam Taylor-Johnson στην Saatchi Gallery η οποία περιλαμβάνει μια σειρά από 34 φωτογραφίες που απεικονίζουν το ιδιωτικό διαμέρισμα της Mademoiselle Chanel. Το διαμέρισμα βρίσκεται στον δεύτερο όροφο πάνω από τη διάσημη μπουτίκ στο νούμερο 31 της Rue Cambon στο Παρίσι και είναι ο μόνος εσωτερικός χώρος της Chanel που υπάρχει. Οι φωτογραφίες απεικονίζουν το είδωλο της σκάλας που οδηγεί μέχρι το διαμέρισμα και αντικείμενα και έπιπλα που ήταν πολύ προσφιλής στην Mademoiselle Chanel.

Festival des Metiers: A Rendezvous with Hermes Crafts people at the Saatchi Gallery

Festival des Metiers arrived in London on 21^st of May from China and stayed at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea  for a week. It is an  exhibition that provides an insight into the traditions and values of Hermes in crafting of fine objects.

Το Festival des Metiers έφτασε στο Λονδίνο στις 21 Μαϊου στην Saatchi Gallery του Chelsea από την Κίνα για μια εβδομάδα. Είναι μια έκθεση που δίνει την ευκαιρία στον επισκέπτη να ανακαλύψει την παράδοση και τις αξίες του οίκου  Hermes στην κατασκευή των προϊόντων του.

During this exhibition I had the opportunity to see the famous Hermes scarf printed in front of my eyes and the composition of handbags, watches and other iconic objects from Hermes. It was very fascinating  to see how much work is done to the leather to produce the famous Birkin handbag and I was blown away by the detailing that goes into one of their famous silk scarves- from the mixing of the unique colours to the numerous layers of printing.

Στην έκθεση αυτήν είχα την ευκαιρία να δω να τυπώνεται το διάσημο φουλάρι του οίκου Hermes μπροστά στα μάτια μου και την σύνθεση μιας τσάνταs, ενός ρολογιού και άλλων

αντικειμένων του οίκου Hermes.  Ήταν πολύ ενδιαφέρον να δω πόση δουλειά χρειάζεται το δέρμα για να δημιουργηθεί μία διάσημη Birkin τσάντα και εντυπωσιάστηκα από την  λεπτομερή δουλειά για την κατασκεύη ενός μεταξωτού κασκόλ – από την μίξη των χρωμάτων μέχρι την τύπωσή του που γίνεται σε πολλές στρώσεις. 

It is rare to have an inside look into a major fashion house and I couldn’t recommend this exhibition more! After London it will travel to Dusseldorf.

Είναι σπάνιο να μπορείς να δεις πως φτιάχνονται τα αντικείμενα ενός τόσο φημισμένου οίκου μόδας και συνιστώ ανεπιφύλακτα αυτήν την έκθεση! Μετά το Λονδίνο η έκθεση θα ταξιδέψει στο Dusseldorf.
