Electric Cinema is one
of the oldest cinemas in London. It has been the most popular part of
Portobello Road: it has survived two world wars, garnered world-wide
recognition, and was saved from being turned in one more supermarket. The interior of the cinema with the leather
armchairs with footstools and side tables that offer unparalleled comfort
reflects its long history.
Electric Cinema is
very popular, you have to book well in advance, so, we got organized, managed
to get tickets, and as it was a girls’ night only, we chose to watch ‘Magic
Mike XXL’!

Cinema είναι ένα από
τους πιο παλιούς κινηματογράφους στο Λονδίνο.
Είναι το πιο γνωστό σημείο του Portobello Road: επέζησε σε δύο παγκόσμιους πολέμους, έλαβε παγκόσμια αναγνώριση, και
κατάφερε να μη γίνει ένα ακόμα supermarket. Το εσωτερικό του
κινηματογράφου με τις δερμάτινες πολυθρόνες με τα υποπόδια και τα πλαϊνά
τραπεζάκια που προσφέρουν απαράμιλλη άνεση αντικατοπτρίζουν την μακρά ιστορία
του.
To Electric Cinema είναι πολύ δημοφιλές, πρέπει να κλείσεις
θέσεις πολύ νωρίς, έτσι οργανωθήκαμε, καταφέραμε να κλείσουμε εισιτήρια, κι
αφού ήταν αποκλειστικά γυναικεία βραδιά, επιλέξαμε να δούμε το ‘Magic Mike XXL’!
We ended our night
having dinner at ‘Electric Diner’ restaurant next door.
Τελειώσαμε τη βραδιά μας πηγαίνοντας για
φαγητό στο ‘Electric Diner’ που βρίσκεται
ακριβώς δίπλα.
