From Amsterdam with love!

The last week of June found me in Amsterdam, combining a little bit of business and a lot of pleasure, for three weeks.  Spending, already, the second week here, I can say that this city is full of surprises, and it's almost impossible to feel bored.  There are so many things to do, from visiting numerous museums and the Royal Palace to shopping and having an exciting night life.

Η τελευταία εβδομάδα του Ιουνίου με βρήκε στο Άμστερνταμ, συνδυάζοντας λίγη δουλειά με πολλή διασκέδαση, για τρεις εβδομάδες.  Διανύοντας ήδη τη δεύτερη εβδομάδα εδώ, μπορώ να πω ότι αυτή η πόλη είναι γεμάτη εκπλήξεις και είναι σχεδόν αδύνατο να βαρεθεί κανείς.  Υπάρχουν τόσα πράγματα να κάνεις, από το να επισκεφθείς τα αμέτρητα μουσεία και το παλάτι εώς τα ψώνια και τη συναρπαστική νυχτερινή ζωή.

and strolling around the city, walking by the canals and relaxing at its beautiful parks.

και τριγυρνώντας στην πόλη, περπατώντας δίπλα στα κανάλια και χαλαρώνοντας στα υπέροχα πάρκα.

Easter Shopping

Easter time has come!  Next Monday is Holly Monday, which means that we have to do a lot of preparations.  One of the things that I love doing during these days is to refresh my home decoration, giving it a touch of Spring.  I love adding colour to the interior and I always buy new plants, candles and lanterns for the balcony.  That's why I visited IKEA, where I always find some great, smart pieces in cool prices.

Tο Πάσχα έφτασε!  Η επόμενη Δευτέρα ειναι η Μεγάλη Δευτέρα, που σημαίνει ότι έχουμε να κάνουμε πολλές προετοιμασίες.  Ένα από τα πράγματα που μ'αρέσει να κάνω αυτές τις μέρες είναι να ανανεώνω τη διακόσμηση του σπιτιού μου, να δίνω μια ανοιξιάτικη νότα.  Μ'αρέσει να βάζω χρώμα στο εσωτερικό του σπιτιού, και πάντα αγοράζω καινούρια φυτά, κεριά και φαναράκια για το μπαλκόνι.  Γι'αυτό επισκέφθηκα το ΙΚΕΑ, οπού πάντα βρίσκω υπέροχες, έξυπνες λύσεις σε τέλειες τιμές.

Βut what's the best thing about the last few days is the amazing summer weather.  Sunshine and 30 degrees in the middle of April are boosting our mood.  So, after shopping at IKEA, I couldn't resist going for a walk by the sea and have a cup of coffee with my sister.

Aλλά το καλύτερο τις τελευταίες μέρες είναι ο υπέροχος, καλοκαιρινός καιρός.  Λιακάδα και 30 βαθμοι στα μέσα του Απρίλη ανεβάζουν τη διάθεση μας.  Έτσι, μετά τα ψώνια στο ΙΚΕΑ, δε μπορούσα να αντίσταθώ σε μία βόλτα κοντά στη θάλασσα και καφέ με την αδελφή μου.

From Olympus with love

Long Spring weekend this week, thanks to the Ash Monday, or Clean Monday, if you prefer, holiday and we didn't miss the chance to make a short trip.  The weather on Sunday was sunny, although still a bit chill so we decided, together with some good friends, to get away from the city.  Our destination?  The mountain of the gods, Olympus.  

Aυτή η εβδομάδα ξεκίνησε με ένα ωραίο ανοιξιάτικο τριήμερο λόγω της Καθαράς Δευτέρας και δε χάσαμε την ευκαιρία να κάνουμε μια κοντινή εκδρομή.  Ο καιρός ήταν υπέροχος την Κυριακή , αν και  αρκετά δροσερός, και έτσι αποφασίσαμε ,παρέα με μερικούς καλούς φίλους να το σκάσουμε για λίγο από την πόλη.  Προορισμός?  Το βουνό των Θεών, ο Όλυμπος.

Beautiful setting, extraordinary view and nature on the edge, between Winter and Spring.  There was still snow at the paths and on the mountain but the trees have started getting green, the water flowing in the streams and the sun shining bright above us.

Yπέροχο σκηνικό, απίθανη θέα και η φύση στο όριο, ανάμεσα στο Χειμώνα και την Άνοιξη.  Υπήρχε ακόμη αρκετό χιόνι στα μονοπάτια και στις πλαγιές του βουνού, αλλά τα δέντρα ήταν πράσινα, τα νερά έρεαν στα ρυάκια και ο ήλιος έλαμπε στον ουρανό.
