Slip-on sneakers - The next big trend!?

While the slip-on silhouette isn’t in fact new, it’s long been favoured by skateboarders and pretty much everyone in the ’90s, it’s never truly been embraced by the couture crowd until now.

Not surprisingly, Céline, the arbiter of everything that’s cool and coveted these days, was an early adopter of the fashion slip-on sneaker and had included them in its spring collection. Since then other designers took note and released their own high-end styles like: Givenchy, Christian Louboutin, Michael Kors , Tory Burch, Kurt Geiger and Katie Grand for Hogan to name a few. Inevitably this trend was adopted by lesser-priced contemporary designers creating their own versions of slip-on sneakers like Zara, Gap and Next.

Ενώ το στυλ των slip-on παπουτσιών δεν είναι στην πραγματικότητα κάτι καινούριο, ήταν και είναι τα αγαπημένα παπούτσια των skateboarders και σχεδόν όλοι τα φορούσαν την δεκαετία του  ’90, δεν είχε όμως ποτέ υιοθετηθεί από το κόσμο της μόδας μέχρι τώρα.

Ο οίκος Céline,ο δημιουργός των πιο πολυπόθητων ρούχων και αξεσουάρ αυτήν την εποχή, υπήρξε ένας από τους πρώτους που παρουσίασε τα slip-on sneakers στην κολεξιόν του την περασμένη Άνοιξη. Από τότε και άλλοι οίκοι μόδας ακολούθησαν και παρουσιάσαν τις δικές τους μοναδικές δημιουργίες όπως Givenchy, Christian Louboutin, Michael Kors , Tory Burch, Kurt Geiger, Katie Grand για τo Hogan και άλλοι πολλοί.  Αναπόφευκτα η τάση αυτή υιοθετήθηκε και από πιο οικονομικές μάρκες που συμπεριέλαβαν τα παπούτσια αυτά στις κολεξιόν τους όπως το Zara, το Gap και το Next.

It seems that we'll see slip-on sneakers everywhere this autumn!
